The 2nd edition of Idea begins, created by IE University and Vector ITC Group

After its presentation, sponsored by the Community of Madrid, with the participation of the Director of Innovation, and the Deputy Counselor of Education, on March 2, 2017. IE University and Vector ITC Group launch the 2nd edition of the Idea contest, an online educational platform for young people aged 14 to 18 with an innovative and entrepreneurial character. The 1st edition of the contest was attended by about 600 students from 2nd eso to 2nd Baccalaureate of 54 schools. Of these, a jury of experts selected 10 finalists who will compete along with the 10 finalists of the 2nd edition next July. Winners will enjoy a training period at IE Summer School. The Idea event is part of YES Lab, a laboratory for the design and development of online training for high school and high school youth.

The objectives of YES Lab are to promote innovation as a philosophy of life, bringing the world of business and entrepreneurship closer to young people, promoting the development of their personal and professional projects. Idea is YES Lab’s first project. It is a didactic, interactive, dynamic and competitive online platform. The participant learns to develop their business idea deductively thanks to the application of the business concepts present in the platform, optimizing in the journey their professional future. In addition, by participating in the challenges, you get points and visibility through a gamification system. Users learn by playing and experimenting.

The mechanics of participating in Idea are simple. The student participates through the web and must complete 12 training chapters and develop a personal project. A jury of experts selects the finalist students, based on the quality of the papers presented. The 20 finalists of the first 2 editions of Idea will participate in working sessions on Design Thinking, Innovation and Entrepreneurship. Finally, they will exhibit their projects and the top 2 will be able to participate in IE Summer School, an intensive program designed for high-potential students that offers the opportunity to discover and improve interpersonal, teamwork, leadership and Creativity.

The 10 finalists of the 1st edition of Idea have been Eva Tarrasa Puebla (4th ESO, Colegio Nuestra Señora de Santamaría), Elena Esquibel Salcedo (1st Baccalaureate, Colegio Nuestra Señora de Santamaría), Lucía Fernández Gómez (4th ESO, Colegio Nuestra Señora de Santamaría), Marta Renedo Brú (1st Baccalaureate, Colegio Nuestra Señora de Santamaría), Nil Codina Martínez (4th ESO, Institut Irária), Elena Antón Rábade (1st Baccalaureate, Our Lady of Remembrance), White Olavarría Villacieros (1st Baccalaureate, Our Lady of Remembrance), Paula Zurdo Herradón (4th ESO, Colegio Rafael Ybarra), Lucía Sánchez (2nd Baccalaureate, Colegio Senara) and Andrea Monroy Gómez (2nd Baccalaureate, Colegio Senara).
